Work For Hire
In a contract Work For Hire, or Work Made For Hire (or a variation of this phrase) is a term that denotes that the copyright to creative work done for the project outlined in the contract belongs to the company hiring the freelancer & not to the freelancer originating the idea or doing the work. These are horrible contracts & should not be signed at all costs, unless the rate reflects a significant increase (e.g. 800% or $10,000+) that makes up for all future lost revenue the artist forfeits by sacrificing their copyright.
